Adjusting to life with a newborn baby….
Adjusting to life with a newborn baby…. guide for first time mums.
We know adjusting to life with a newborn baby can be stressful, but your doing great!
There is so much to consider being a first time mummy but we are here to help just a little. When you come to your newborn shoot, you have nothing at all to worry about we will take care of baby the whole time. Wether baby is bottle fed or breast fed we will work around you to get the most beautiful photos of your little one.
But before you even get your baby home there is so much to think about, making sure the cot is ready, car seat is fitted, making sure you have lots of nappies, baby grows and vets. Honestly you can never have too many!
Here are our 6 top tips to help you out! Lots of us are mums!
Batch Cook your food!
Your gonna want to pre cook and make as much food as your freezer can hold so its nice and easy to just heat up when you have that spare second to eat!
Make to do list!
Baby brain really is a thing! Even if it’s just your plan for the day, put a load of washing on, feed the dog, call grandma. It really does help!
Log everything!
Logging everything that happens during the day is so much of a help. Things like what time baby had their bottle and how much they had of it, what time their nappy was changed. It really does help as its hard to remember everything let alone with a little baby.
Keep essentials in every room…..
Keeping nappies, wipes, muslin cloths and changes of clothes in each room as you never know when you might need them, yes poop explosions are a thing.
Take all the help you can get!
Never feel like you cannot accept help from visitors. If grandma offers to change a nappy or 2 take her up on it. It will allow you to sit down for a second to have a hot cuppa or watch your favourite TV show even if you only watch the first 5 minis. https://www.netflix.com/gb/
White Noise…..
Most important thing we swear by is white noise. The best invention ever!! The hair dryer sound is our best friend especially in the newborn shoots and at night, it doesn’t just help baby sleep its sends us off to sleep too. It’s great, there are many things on the market for this but we use an app called sound sleeper.
