Last week we had our summer creative day here at Xposure Studios. And what an amazing day we had. Our creative days are an opportunity for our staff to collaborate on exciting and seasonal concepts.
We decided to do a swimwear shoot and so we set up a Pinterest board, which we added to as a team. We chose the theme "Hazy Days" and pinned images, which we thought were inspiring for the styling, the hair and the make-up. We all had lots of ideas and so we collated the best ideas. We noticed that summer inflatables were trending recently on social media and so we ordered some to use as props.

We put together a small team of creatives, 2 make-up artist, 1 stylist and 3 photographers. We wanted everyone to have their own input and so we did 2 hair and make-up looks and 3 outfits per model.
Sian Vance undertook the styling. Sian sourced fun and colourful beachwear with contemporary prints and logos, an array of sunglasses in a multitide of styles and colours and some fun beach accessories.
Here is a collage of what was happening behind the scenes during the day.
The super sultry Katie from J'adore models was to wear a cocktail of tropical hues with Palm Springs vibes throughout. Make up artist Suzanne Wells decided to compliment this with the make-up. Eye colours in sunny yellows and ocean blues, a beautiful golden cheek shimmer and sunset lips. Katie's hair was modern with a nod to the playful 50s pinup girl. We loved Katie's final look!
Daisy was to wear a mix of pinks and purples with cool blues. The very talented Jessica Grant used hair chalks to create a young and vibrant beach look for Daisy. The make-up enhanced the hair colours with similar hues splashed across her eyelids and set off with a Barbie pink pout. Daisy's look was fresh and fun!
Photographers Fiona Kelley, Louise Loewe and Beverly Icely did a fabulous job of capturing a fun summer feeling. They experimented with lighting throughout the day using coloured gels and palm plants to create shadows on our backdrop, giving off a deep summer LA vibe.
We also were lucky to have chosen the hottest day of the year so far to shoot. It really was as hot as the girls look in the final images. We headed down to the streets of the city. Shooting against the graffiti at Paradiso bar and in the garden of Alma de Cuba. Using these backdrops along with the studio shots really did create some red-hot summer shots.
We are really pleased with our final set of summer images and we hope you like them too. Shooting "Hazy Days" with such a great team was a huge success.
