At Peekaboo by Xposure Studios we believe life is precious and it is so important to cherish those first beautiful moments with your newborn baby. This is never more prevalent than when photographing your rainbow babies. “Rainbow baby is a name coined for a healthy baby born after losing a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death.” (healthline.com). This is something that is very personal for me and is very close to my heart after suffering my own loss before giving birth to my own beautiful rainbow baby Niamh in June of this year.
We have had the privilege of photographing so many of our clients rainbow babies & we love to do this in a way that celebrates the beautiful life that has been created, while still honouring the little life that our couples have lost along their journeys, each completely unique to them. Some parents like to fully embrace the rainbow theme and have a shoot filled with beautiful rainbow colours & props to celebrate their baby. Other parents have brought along mementos and special keepsakes that honour the life of their little ones lost sibling to be featured in their newborn photoshoot. Some mum to be’s also like to use our rainbow props during their maternity session to tie in the rainbow colours & theme to their newborn photoshoot and the results are beautiful gallery of rainbow images they can treasure forever.
