A birthday is the most exciting time of the year and one that we love to help people celebrate! Especially when there’s cake involved!!
Our aim is to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for years to come & there are a few things you can do to help make it happen. So please read all the information below before your session date so you are fully prepared & please contact us if you have any questions!

After your cakesmash photoshoot you will head in to our viewing suite where you will get to see your beautiful images displayed on our cinema style projector screen. Then you will get to decide which of our image packages you would like to purchase and how you would like to take your stunning portraits home.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR BIRTHDAY CAKESMASH PHOTOSHOOT
- Your experience with us will last around 2.5 hours. We will spend an hour in the studio having lots of fun with your little one and capturing images for their birthday.
We will spend half of the session photographing the cake smash and the other half we will do a splash session. This way if baby doesn’t like the cake, lots of splashes and bubbles always puts a smile on their face. It also means we can get baby cleaned up after getting covered in cake!
We have lots of different backgrounds so we can tailor your session to create stunning pictures that really reflect you. - All of our photographers are great with kids! We have lots of experience working with children of all ages so don’t worry, we will keep your little ones entertained and capture some gorgeous natural photographs of them just being themselves!
- Once your session is finished, we will spend a small amount of time adding the finishing touches to your images. You will then get to see them cinema style on the big screen and choose how you would like to take your pictures home with you.

HINTS AND TIPS
If you follow these hints and tips, your cakesmash photoshoot will run smoothly and we are sure that you are going to love your time in the studio with us! Capturing your family memories will be a joyous occasion and one that you will remember forever and we are privileged that you chose us to be a part of it.
What to bring to your Cake Smash & Splash/Birthday Session
- If you are coming to us for a cakesmash photoshoot please remember to bring your cake! Let us know before hand if you are going for a specific colour scheme and we can match the backgrounds as appropriate.
- Bring any extra decorations you want to include in the photoshoot.
Bring extra clothes for you and baby. During most of your smash & splash sessions the parents also get messy and wet and you will probably want to change! - Bring along 2 outfits, one basic outfit to get baby used to the camera, and then one for the cake smash. Please bear in mind that the idea is for baby to get nice and messy, so makes sure it’s something you don’t mind getting covered in cake!! We have nappy covers here if you want to keep it nice and simple, or tutus for girls and pants with braces for boys are also popular. Have a look online for some ideas.
- To make your photoshoot personal to you, feel free to bring some birthday themed props that belong to your children.
- Please bring any means of payment and a form of ID with you on the day for any extra purchases.
How to get the best from your Cake Smash & Splash /Birthday Session
- Arrive to your session 10 minutes early just so we can introduce ourselves, fill in the relevant forms with you and serve you with refreshments before we get started.
Make sure you having everything you need with you to keep your little one comfortable in a new environment. - Take a look online at our portfolios before you come in for your session, that way you can give us an idea of what style of pictures you would really like for you and your little one.
